DESCRIPTION

Antica Casa Zucchini, a sixteenth-century residence transformed into a bed and breakfast, is located in the historic center of Bologna, a short distance from Piazza Maggiore. The antique furnishings, together with the high frescoed ceilings, the wooden furniture and the Venetian flooring, embellish 3 elegant and spacious rooms equipped with all comforts. Guests can relax in the common library and enjoy a daily continental breakfast with homemade pastries.

LOCATION AND TRANSPORT

The bed and breakfast is a 3-minute walk from Piazza Santo Stefano and less than 10 from Piazza Maggiore, the Basilica of San Petronio and the Two Towers. A 5-minute walk away is also the bus stop that takes you to the Central Station in 10 minutes. The Marconi Express shuttle leaves from the station and takes you to G. Marconi airport in about ten minutes.

ROOMS

The rooms are furnished in a classic style with antique wooden furniture, frescoed vaulted ceilings, wrought iron sofas and elegant curtains. They have air conditioning, LCD TV and bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Each room has its own characteristic: Cornelia includes an adjoining room with a fireplace, Cesare overlooks the internal courtyard and Guido is distinguished by the irregularity of the shape and the decorated walls.

SERVICES

Small library used as a common living room; as well as a left-luggage office, fax service, newspapers and free Wi-Fi connection in all areas. The staff offers cooking and Italian language courses for a fee and is available for tourist information, restaurant reservations and the loan of guides in Italian and other languages.

Children: family rooms available, extra beds and cots on request, children's books and board games.
Business: the library can host small meetings, book presentations and reading groups.
Animals: are not allowed.

FOOD

Breakfast, prepared by the owner of the house, is served and consumed on the precious seventeenth-century table in the common room. The buffet includes homemade bread and cakes, sweet and savory muffins, homemade jams, yoghurt, cereals, fruit juices, coffee drinks and, upon request, gluten-free baked goods.
